Job Description
The Office of Library and Information Services is seeking a Library Program Specialist II to serve as Adult Services Coordinator. This position works in the area of library development, especially public library support and services.
Position Function Duties
Duties include planning, developing and implementing projects in areas such as adult education, digital literacy, workforce development, small business support, and other areas; serving as a liaison between libraries, community organizations and government agencies in the development and execution of these projects; and promoting and publicizing these projects and others through multiple channels, including online publications and social media.
Other duties: To perform complex professional duties in the delivery of library, information and consultant services on a statewide basis; to assist in the planning and development of program policies, procedures and standards; to research national trends and current developments in public library service for local application; and to do related work as required.

The Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS) is the state library administrative agency for Rhode Island. OLIS strengthens, connects and empowers libraries to advance knowledge, connect communities and enrich the lives of all Rhode Islanders. OLIS has the statutory authority and responsibility to administer state and federal funding and to coordinate and support programs for libraries of all types. It is part of the Executive Branch of state government located in the Department of Administration under the direction of the Chief of Library Services. OLIS works with the Library Board of Rhode Island to establish priorities and policies to carry out its mission.
