Job Description

Lincoln City Libraries (NE) is currently recruiting for the position of Library Director. This position is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and direction of the Library Department and public library system. Seeking dynamic individual with demonstrated leadership skills and proven record of effectively working in a changing environment. Responsible for planning the long term development of the library program. Lincoln City Libraries consists of main library, seven branches and bookmobile and serves all residents of the City of Lincoln and Lancaster County with population of 276,000. Annual operating budget of $7.4 million, 117 FTEs, annual circulation of 3.1 million with a collection of 907,497. Customer survey indicated that 85.6% were either "very" or "extremely satisfied" with Lincoln City Libraries service. Library ranked 7 out of 97 public libraries in 2006 Hennen’s rating. This is a cabinet level position appointed by, and reporting to, the Mayor. Also reports to the Library Board.

Additional Info & Requirements

Master's degree from an ALA accredited library science program and 6 - 9 years of professional library experience in a supervisory capacity in a library system with multiple branches, or equivalent. Must be eligible for Nebraska Library Commission Public Librarian Certification Level V.
