Garfield County Public Library District (GCPLD) is a fast-paced, innovative organization that values new ideas, diversity, optimism, and interpersonal respect. With a recent boost in revenue, our District enjoys a healthy technology budget, and looks forward to engaging in large-scale, complex projects that will introduce new and enhanced technology to our residents and our staff.

The District is growing and evolving and is looking for a strong technology leader to join the Executive Leadership Team to nurture this evolution. This executive level position actively serves on the District's Executive Leadership Team, attends the monthly Library Board meeting, and represents the District on external committees and task forces as needed.

The Technology and Innovation Manager oversees all public and staff computer networks and telecommunications systems software and hardware, including operating systems; enterprise applications, the integrated library system (ILS), desktop and laptop computers and applications, local and wide area networks, printers, staff intranet, and the District's website. This position sets the strategic direction for the District's technology initiatives, while also overseeing the daily operations of the Technology and Innovation department to ensure that staff and patrons enjoy a seamless technology experience. The Technology and Innovation Manager provides outstanding internal and external customer service and maintains excellent rapport with contractors and vendors. This position provides occasional hands-on technology support to staff when needed.

As a senior manager serving on the Executive Leadership Team, the successful candidate will possess advanced professional writing skills; the ability to communicate concisely and clearly across all levels of staff and to external stakeholders; ability to write, follow, and lead a project plan; ability to develop and pitch proposals to senior managers and Board members; budget management skills; the ability to quickly adapt to changing needs and priorities; effective problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to draft and negotiate contracts with vendors.

This position requires a four-year college or university degree with major coursework in computer science, information technology management, or a related field, and at least four years of management experience in the development and administration of computer systems, telecommunication systems, and local and wide area networks.

This is a full-time, exempt position. The pay range for this position is $52,000 - $66,560 annually. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, employer contribution to a retirement fund, paid vacation and sick days, and holidays.
