Job Description
Purpose: The Budget Analyst supports the Finance Department’s budget operations with recordkeeping, technology support, and financial reporting analyses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
60% Budget Operations:
- Works under the direct supervision of the Budget Manager for all new tool & report development.
- Develops prescribed tools utilized by end-users for annual individual budget proposals.
- Distributes end-user budget tools & follow up to ensure timely submission by end-users.
- Compiles District-Wide budget, including upload and proof of all individual budget proposals.
- Develops comparative budget analyses at Program, Department, Division and District-Wide levels.
- Processes all budget changes required to complete final, approved budget.
- Maintains records to account for all changes from proposed to final, approved budget.
- Reviews budget vs. actual performance on monthly basis; reports on significant differences and proposes solution of differences.
- Maintains records to account for all changes and re-allocations in final, approved budget.
40% Administrative:
- Develops excellent interpersonal relationships and provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Performs basic troubleshooting when reconciling account balances and makes inquiries to obtain missing information or verify unusual data.
- Performs checks and balances using strong critical thinking and evaluation.
- Improves processes to yield more accurate information effectively and efficiently.
- Manages multiple projects and duties to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least two to four years of accounting experience
- Strong Excel skills
Preferred
- Intacct experience
A combination of experience and education will be considered.
Physical Requirements: Must have the physical ability, stamina, mobility and manual dexterity to support a 7-day a week operation. Work at computer stations for extended periods. Participate in meetings and events at various locations and at varied times throughout the day. Ability to read as small as 8pt font.
